Developer Psyonix has announced that Season 14 has started for Rocket League. That means a new battle pass, two car body additions, patch notes, and even a fresh arena called AquaDome (Salty Shallows) are now available in the free-to-play game that mixes cars with soccer.
The Admiral and Mako car bodies are part of the Season 14 battle pass. Psyonix notes that these rides will eventually be available in Fortnite as well, meaning your purchase would carry over to the battle royale game. The latest Rocket League trailer–seen below–showcases other new customization options for your vehicles, like an angry Octopus topper and purple coral wheels. The reaction to the video on YouTube is pretty negative, saying the arena is just a variant that adds grass.
Rocket League isn’t the only car-centric game from Psyonix these days. The developer also is continuously working on Rocket Racing, a new permanent mode in Fortnite that was unveiled and released in December. It’s important to note that Rocket Racing isn’t meant to replace Rocket League, however.
Over the past few months, Rocket League has received all sorts of crossover content. In February, the Fast & Furious Mazda RX-7 came to the game, even alongside a Tokyo Drift song. Meanwhile, Lightning McQueen from the Cars film franchise showed up as DLC in November, and a Nightmare Before Christmas collaboration for Rocket League took place in time for Halloween in October.
Season 14 of Rocket League is planned to end June 5. The patch notes for version 2.36 are below:
